Adult Summer Reading Program

Sign up to start tracking your progress and earn a custom-designed reading light or another cool prize!

How it works:

  1. Register for the Adult Summer Reading Program online or in person at the library beginning May 27th. Then visit any branch to pick up a registration prize.
  2. Complete any combination of 5 activities listed here between June 1st and July 31st: read 5 books, listen to 5 audiobooks, participate in 5 programs or take-home kits at the library.
  3. Enter your 5 activities on our online form or bring your completed form to enter at the library, then choose your prize. One prize per patron. Prizes are available for pick-up through August 27 at any branch.

Youth Summer Reading Program

The Youth Summer Reading Programs begins on May 27th. Register by signing up on our website or in person at the Children’s Desk.

How it works:

  1. For every 10 minutes you read, color in a square. When you get to the end of a section, you can get a free book or prize from the prize box.
  2. Finish all the sections and enter the Grand Prize drawing!
  3. For every row you complete on the bingo sheet, you get an entry into the Grand Prize Box!

Weekly Coloring Contest
Rising Pre-K – 5th Grade

Stop by the Cartersville Library Children’s Desk each week between June 6th and July 29th and pick up a coloring sheet. Leave your decorated sheet for us to display for the week in the Children’s Department! Each Friday, entries will be put in a box and a winner will randomly be chosen and contacted. Prizes vary each week!

Get Georgia Reading

We all want to make sure every child in Georgia—especially our most vulnerable children—eat healthy, stay safe, and continue to learn this summer. GeorgiaSummer.org features resources to help families find healthy food, safety tips, vaccine information, learning resources, summer camp and child care information, and more.

All preschool and elementary school students can log in now to access tools provided by Capstone to help develop a love of reading and learning, no matter their ability level. The username and password are both gaschools.
