Join local artist Emily Smith for a 2-hour painting class on Thursday evenings! All classes will be open to beginners and beyond. In each class you will learn to look at a painting and recreate it using skills and techniques taught by the instructor. Registration and $20 fee are required. All art materials provided.

Solar Eclipse Program with Nick Johnson

Learn about the upcoming solar eclipse with Nick Johnson, a solar system ambassador. Nick Johnson has a passion for all things space related with a particular interest in Astrophotography. He is currently the photographer at Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, where in August of 2018 he presented a lecture on Astrophotography.

Karisa Zdanky, the Astronomy Program Manager at the Tellus Museum, will be sharing her wealth of knowledge in a lecture about astronomy, the solar system, and the upcoming solar eclipse. Join us for this family fun event and get your free solar eclipse glasses after the lecture. After the lecture, take the kids to the children’s department to make a solar system themed craft.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention: This class guides participants in practicing slow, gentle movements and breathing techniques to improve balance, strengthen muscles, and increase flexibility. It helps alleviate symptoms of arthritis, lower the risk of falling, and improve overall health. Class sessions run for 1 hour and meet weekly for 8 weeks
